Why this matters

NYC has the deepest creative talent density of any city, but most of it is invisible online — siloed across Instagram accounts, gallery websites, trade press, and word-of-mouth. The Maker Directory is our attempt to surface this work in one place, organized the way buyers, curators, and collaborators actually search.

Each story link goes to our full reporting on that maker, so if you’re looking for, say, a Brooklyn ceramicist for a commission, or a Manhattan jewelry studio for a collab, you have a starting point.
