Made in NYC has launched 59 cultural phone directories covering neighborhoods across all 5 boroughs.
Every directory:
- 6–50 cultural organizations per neighborhood
- Sourced from the official NYC Department of Cultural Affairs dataset
- Click-to-call phone numbers + Google Maps + Yelp links per card
- Schema.org CulturalOrganization microdata for each entry
- Auto-cross-linked to NYC Maker Directory + sister-site phone directories
What’s covered
Galleries, museums, theaters, music venues, dance studios, community arts centers, performance spaces — every cultural organization in the DCLA registry that maintains an active phone listing.
Sample directories
- East Village Cultural Organizations
- West Village Cultural Organizations
- Fort Greene Cultural Organizations
- Park Slope-Gowanus Cultural Organizations
- DUMBO / Downtown Brooklyn Cultural Organizations
Why we built it
NYC has thousands of cultural organizations, but most of them are buried in PDF lists or Google Sheets nobody finds. We’ve turned them into mobile-first, click-to-call directories you can pull up at the gallery, museum, or theater — call ahead, get directions, and arrive prepared.
The data refreshes from the official DCLA dataset, so as new institutions register or move locations, our directories pick them up.
Cross-network
Phone directories now live across our 4-publication NYC network:
- NYC Restaurant Voice — 265 restaurant directories by cuisine + neighborhood
- NYC Business Pulse — 33 business directories (parking, hotels, contractors, towing)
- Made in NYC — 59 cultural directories (this launch)
- NYC Pulse News — schools by neighborhood
Directory pages link to each other across the network, so wherever you start, you can find the right local phone number.
