A new tech incubator launching this month in SoHo is designed to fuse New York’s robust startup culture with its artisanal heritage. The SoHo Innovation Lab, located in a renovated cast-iron building, offers workspace and resources for entrepreneurs developing tools for creative and craft industries. The initiative is a collaboration between the city’s Economic Development Corporation and local business improvement districts.

By providing mentorship, funding access, and networking events, the lab aims to help small-scale makers leverage technology—from augmented reality to digital fabrication—to scale their businesses without losing craftsmanship.
